Merry Christmas Hillside

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. You have enlarged the nation and increased
their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest as men rejoice when dividing the plunder. For as in the day of Midian's defeat, you have shattered the
yoke that burdens them, the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor. Every warrior's boot used in battle and every garment rolled in blood will be
destined for burning, will be fuel for the fire.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:1-7

Good morning Hillside,

Imagine climbing a trail on the Oregon coast having never seen the ocean. It's just about sunset; a coastal mist hangs in the air. As you reach the end of your trail the ground slopes up slightly on your left, a line of rugged Northwest trees concealing the view of the ocean. To your right you find a park sign describing the Pacific Ocean, it's beauty, it's depth and it's scope. You find yourself captivated by the description of something so great. At that moment beams of light begin to cut through the mist and tree line. You make your way to the edge of a fence just beyond the trees and there in front of you, a blazing orange sun hangs above the expanse of the water. Hundreds of feet below and miles in every direction, beauty beyond description, you find yourself unable to pull yourself away. Standing in the light of the sun the words you just read are alive.

This is where we celebrate! Standing in the light, the words of Isaiah made alive in Jesus, majesty and beauty beyond description. Tonight let Hillside lead the way as heaven and nature sing…Joy to the world, the Lord has come, let earth receive her King. Let every heart prepare him room. He rules the world with truth and grace and makes the nations prove the glories of his righteousness!

We can’t wait to see you all again. Merry Christmas Hillside!
