Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it. For the Scriptures say,

“If you want to enjoy life
and see many happy days,
keep your tongue from speaking evil
and your lips from telling lies.
Turn away from evil and do good.
Search for peace, and work to maintain it.

1 Peter 3:8-11

"and work to maintain it..." Easier said than done. But it's apparent that some work has to be from our end to attain this. Obedience, prayer, surrender. A daily task we must aim for. Thank you for the great reminder. Our God is a God of PEACE. It makes me want to check myself to see what areas are lacking this peace.

A couple years ago I taught preschool, 4 year olds at Valley. The kiddos had to sing this song..."keep your tongue from evil, keep your tongue, keep your tongue from evil, keep your tongue, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies, keep your tongue from evil, keep your tongue." The melody has stuck with me for a long time!

Thank you again for the reminder!!
