Elections and God's Will?

I was looking at the newspaper today and saw an article heading that read “Christians Divided Over Election”. When I saw this, my heart was heavy from the image that this sent. I started to think about how much as Christians we bicker about the issues. Whether it is which politician we should elect to office or how we should vote for ballot measures. How are we ever going to accomplish anything in this broken world if we cannot even come together on these issues? All to often the secular world sees that the Church cannot come together, so why would they want to be a part of this “organization”? We can answer for ourselves as we have seen God move in our very lives through the answer to prayer. What do you think would happen if people outside of the church started to see Him move in ways that they have never seen before? Is this possible? I believe this is so but it is only possible by being guided by Him.

“…understand what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5:17

How are we going to understand the will of the Lord? The answer is prayer. Just imagine a nation of Christians all on their knees praying and seeking God’s will. I cannot believe that God’s will for you and I is different in how we are to vote in the next election. Brothers and sisters I urge you tonight to start praying for the upcoming elections to seek God’s will in how we are to vote and for other Christians to start praying this very thing, so that we may see radical changes in this great nation that we live.

God Bless,

Rick
